People should think twice about going to BJU.Education
People should think twice about going to BJU. The accreditation is a big issue outside of the BJU Christian circle and outside of South Carolina. BJU does not have the 'big' name that it used to. To validate the degrees, employers ARE looking at the accreditation...and BJU is not accredited by the regional agencies.

Question
There was an immense amount of vital informationOther
There was an immense amount of vital information left unstated by Bob Jones Univ. prior to enrollment, especially the implications of attending a non-accredited university. I spoke to faculty members about this on several occasions and was always assured that it really did not mean anything, until I looked into transferring to another university and came to find out exactly how much it really meant. This type of dishonesty is unforgivable from an institution that denounces sin in its many forms except the ones that the University itself is guilty of committing.

Though the music education is top-notch, other aspects of this institution beg serious evaluation. Bob Jones University is neither non-denominational nor Christ-centered. Students from a non-Baptistic background will hear their denominations bashed, mocked and condemned consistently from the pulpit, by the faculty and students in leadership positions. This is not a place for a tender-hearted Christian seeking the Truth. Deeply rooted in Biblical-fundamentalism, Bob Jones University would be an ideal educational choice for those most accustomed to legalism and sanctification through works. Those who truly believe that we are "saved by grace alone and not by works, lest any man should boast", should seriously consider getting their education elsewhere. Speaking as a follower of Christ, redeemed by His blood alone, a pastor's kid, intimately acquainted, since my earliest childhood, with the Martyred Church through Voice of the Martyr's, I can tell you that Bob Jones University did a serious number on me spiritually. I was unable to open the Scriptures for two years following my graduation without hearing Satan's condemnations. This is not a place of God, it is a place of men using the Bible for ungodly purposes. How did I survive four and a half years at Bob Jones Univ.? By remembering my brothers and sisters in Christ who had suffered far worse under communist regimes.

Question
This university has a horrible reputation in theQuite BrightPolitical Science
This university has a horrible reputation in the state (and rightly so). Employers do not want to even interview me because they think that I will be close minded, anti-diversity, and rude to others with different beliefs.

I graduated in three years to escape. I am now in law school. When I was at the university, people were not receptive to females going to law school. I also did not appreciate the fact that females basically exist for the good of males. (God's chosen gender?) The whole experience felt more like prison than some scholastic endeavor.Without the faculty I never would have survived. Some of my professors actually respected my opinions. Unfortunately tolerance of independent thinking was definitely the exception to the rule.
